Dentists

Andrew Mellor BDS qualified from Manchester University in 1981 and opened the practice in 1985. We have an experienced, friendly team of 9 dentists.

All our dentists are committed to continued professional development and complete 50 hours of training per year.

Hygienists

We have two part time hygienists who are responsible for cleaning and polishing your teeth. The dentists will refer you to see the hygienist if they consider you to be at risk from gum disease if you are referred to the hygienist you will be treated under the NHS.

Ann Dutton (Nee Garland): Joined us in 1990 and retired in March this year after 24 years at the practice.

Susan Jones : Joined us in 2005. Mondays and some Fridays. GDC No. 3458

Jane Hurst: . Joined us in 2010. Wed, Thur ,Fri. GDC No. 5726

Practice Manager

Jenny Furnival, Joined the practice when it opened in 1985 and is now responsible for managing the day to day running of the practice Jenny is also our complaints manager so if you have a concern about your experience at our practice ask to speak to her. She is also a registered dental nurse.

Reception

Bev Rushton, Joined us in 1999 and is our Head Receptionist and IT manager

Alison Procter, Receptionist joined in 2008

Helen Pullen, Receptionist joined in 2008. Also a registered dental nurse with sedation training.

Vanessa Ford, Receptionist rejoined the practice in 2013

Pamela Pettit, Receptionist joined in 2012

Sue Mellor, Receptionist and business accounts manager.

Nurses

All our nurses are either fully qualified and registered with the General Dental Council or undergoing formal training towards their National qualification.

The following nurses are all registered with the GDC:

Julie Monk, Joined the practice in 1992. Our head nurse & lead decontamination nurse. Julie also has sedation training and is responsible for the practice stock control.

Philippa Dale. Joined us in 2005 Deputy head nurse with sedation and oral health education training.

Rebecca Doorbar, Joined us in 1999 Has the national qualification in sedation nursing.

Sarah Monk. Joined us in 2007. Has the national qualification in sedation nursing.
